Kayano Nagai studied the flute with Ryoichi Sone,Takako Shiraishi and Nobutaka Shimizu. After graduating from Osaka Junior College of Music, she studied at the Royal College of music with Graham Mayger, attended master classes with Michie and William Bennett and had private lessons with Clare Southworth.
She gives recitals, plays chamber music, performs in orchestral, popular music and Latin-American concerts, and has released a number of commercial recordings for TV and CD distribution. She enjoys teaching in Japan, her former pupils becoming becoming professional performers and teachers themselves.
More recently, she studied Body Mapping with Barbara Conable in the USA and has obtained a Certificate from Andover Educators.
